Cycle Studio in Alexandria Is Closed

The first cycling studio to open in Washington is closing for the summer.

Cycle Studio, the popular cycling studio in Alexandria that started the indoor cycling craze in Washington, is closing.

A visit to the studio’s website on Thursday directed us to an announcement from management that states: “We regret to inform you that Cycle Studio must permanently suspend operations.”

However, studio manager Daffney Parsons Allwein says as far as she knows, the studio should open again after August. She said the building’s owners decided to close up shop, and there are talks of new owners taking over after the summer.

Cycle Studio opened just one year ago. In addition to indoor cycling classes, it offered yoga and core-strengthening classes, plus hybrid classes that combined cycling, yoga, and strength training into one workout.
