Comments () | Published January 9, 2013

Michael Chapman

Sheriff, Loudoun County

The newly installed head law-enforcement agent in the region’s wealthiest and fastest-growing county faces a multitude of challenges since ousting the 16-year incumbent in a 2011 election. After a career with the Drug Enforcement Administration, Michael Chapman confronts rising gang and drug problems in fast-urbanizing Loudoun County. In his first year, he sped up construction of a new county jail and strived to make the sheriff’s office more accessible to citizens.

Need to get in touch with him? Head to the sheriff office’s web page, where Chapman took the unusual step of posting his e-mail address.
