Today the godfather of go-go Chuck Brown passed away at the
age of 75. The Grammy-nominated artist, who lived in Brandywine,
Maryland, was a local legend; in August of last year he was
honored by the National Symphony Orchestra as part of its “legends
of local music” concert, along with other Washington musicians
John Philip Sousa and Duke Ellington. Here’s a look back at
a bit of
The Washingtonian‘s coverage of Brown throughout the years.
