New Condo Spotlight: Solea Condominiums

What: Solea Condominiums

Where: 1414 Belmont Street, NW

Number of units: 59, plus three retail shops on the ground floor. Negotiations are still underway but representatives say two of the spaces will likely house a restaurant and home-goods store.

Number sold: More than half.

Floorplans: The Solea has more than 30 floor plans ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, some with dens. Sizes range from 470 to 1,400 square feet.

Prices: Studios start at $250,000; one-bedrooms at $375,000; two-bedrooms at $490,000; and three-bedrooms at $650,000. Two-story lofts with 18 to 20 foot ceilings and views of the Wilson Bridge start at $400,000. Prices include parking.  

In each unit: Minimum of 10-foot ceilings and seven-foot windows as well as a washer/dryer, trash chute, and granite countertops in the kitchen. Some units feature sliding opaque glass doors that retract into the walls and allow light to flow through.  

Building amenities: Residents have access to two levels of underground parking and a central courtyard. Fourth-floor units have private patios, but there is no public roof deck.

Closest Metro: The green and yellow line’s U Street station is three blocks away.  

Expected completion: Done. Residents began moving in last weekend.
