There are hotlines to help smokers quit, and then there’s this: Washington Sports Clubs’ I Am Buff Beach Help Hotline.

Beginning Friday, the first official day of summer, Washington Sports Clubs will offer a toll-free help hotline for those who are too self-conscious to don a bathing suit just yet. Callers can speak to certified personal trainers who can help answer burning questions about how to get beach-body ready.

What sort of help should one expect when calling the Beach Buff hotline? Tips from fitness experts on how to start a summer workout program, how to safely exercise in the heat, and recommendations for calorie-burning exercises.

In addition to feeling better about one’s not-so-killer bod, callers will receive a free one-week pass to a local WSC club and free access to an Ultimate Fitness Experience class.

Call 1-855-I-AM-BUFF (4-26-2833). Lines are only open this Friday through Sunday from 6 AM to 9 PM. For more information, e-mail iambuff@town-sports.com.
