DC Yoga Week Starts This Sunday

Participating studios will offer free and $5 yoga classes for the week.

DC Yoga Week is back for the seventh year in a row, and with it comes 25 yoga studios in Washington offering free or $5 classes for an entire week.

It’s the perfect chance for yoga newbies to test out the many yoga studios that have popped up in DC, Maryland, and Virginia at a rapid pace over the past few years. And don’t miss Yoga on the Mall on Saturday, May 19. Anyone can participate in a free outdoor yoga session from 1:30 to 4:30. Yoga for all levels, including for children, will be offered.

Participating studios include Unity Woods, which has multiple locations in Washington and is owned by John Schumacher, often called the father of Washington yoga. Tranquil Space, another popular participating studio, has locations in Dupont Circle and Arlington. Its owner, Kimberly Wilson, was featured as a top yoga instructor in The Washingtonian
