Weekly socialization parties sponsored by the dog wash and Opportunity Barks Behavior & Training are intended for puppies less than five months old to boost their social skills by playing with peers and people. Slow down for some of our speediest companions at Barkley Square’s Yappy Hour (2006 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria; 703-548-3644) to benefit Greyhound Welfare. The patio event will feature an information session and canine-themed wines and beers (think Flying Dog beer and Yard Dog wine). Proceeds will go toward finding homes for retired racing greyhounds.
