Where the deals are hiding on November 27.

What’s our favorite way to work off those second (and third and fourth) helpings of turkey and stuffing? Shopping, shopping, shopping. In honor of Black Friday—the post-Thanksgiving tradition of retail sales—we checked out the markdowns at some of our favorite boutiques. Read on for a neighborhood-by-neighborhood breakdown of where to go for sweet deals and special promotions.


Annie Creamcheese. A buy-two-get-one-free sale extends through the weekend.
Hu’s Wear. Though the high-end boutique’s 30-percent fall/winter-merchandise sale doesn’t officially start until December 1, it will honor the deal for those who mention it.
Major. Keep checking Twitter (@majordc) or for updates on the famous midnight sneaker sale. The shop will also pull limited-edition headwear pieces from the vault for one-time shopping.
Sangaree. 30 percent off all clothing (including labels such as Ports 1961 and Tevrow + Chase) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Sassanova. 15-percent discount on boots.
Sugar. Donate a box of cake mix to the boutique’s food drive through December 6 to receive 20 percent off your day-of-donation purchase.
Urban Chic. Get 25 percent off new merchandise from 9 to 10 AM, and take part in a drawing for a 10-, 15-, or 20-percent discount at the register after 10 AM.
Wink. Mention The Washingtonian at this basement-level boutique and get 20 percent off your purchase.


Caramel. Up to 50 percent off fall and winter styles and a 25-percent discount on shoes and jeans.
Home Rule. 10 percent off everything.
Meeps. 20 percent off all coats and jackets.
Redeem. Take an additional 20 percent off already reduced merchandise Friday through Sunday.


Daisy Too. 20 percent off Trina Turk and the entire shoe department, with the exception of Uggs and flip-flops.
National Jean Company. From 8 to noon, score 25 percent off all merchandise, which includes J Brand and Current/Elliott denim, LnA T-shirts, and Ali Ro dresses.


Grape & Bean. Mention to receive 20 percent off all coffee and wine equipment as well as bags of whole coffee beans.
Periwinkle. Receive 10 percent off the purchase of one item, 20 percent off two items, and so on, with a maximum of 50 percent off five items. Clothing only.

The Mclean supermall will be open from midnight to 10 PM Friday with special promotions including free valet parking, an on-the-hour $1,000 gift-card giveaway, and complimentary breakfast pastries and hot chocolate in the VIP pajama lounge. Click here for store-specific sales.


The discount mall will open at midnight Friday, 8 AM Saturday, and 9 AM Sunday. Chain favorites such as Banana Republic, Barneys New York, Coach, and Pottery Barn will be open as late as 11 PM. Steep discounts at specific stores include half off from midnight to 8 AM at DKNY, where the first 50 customers also receive a $15 gift card; Juicy Couture’s 30-percent discount on all merchandise and a free ornament with purchase; half off everything at Kate Spade from midnight to 8 AM; and a free gift with a $75 purchase at Crate & Barrel. In addition to discounts at all of its stores, the Woodbridge outlet center offers yet another midnight opener on Black Friday, free travel alarm clocks to the first 200 Guest Services visitors, hourly register-to-win prize drawings, and musical performances.
