Wear + When: Fall Festivals

The ultimate weekend-warrior wear? Boyfriend button downs, combat boots, and a go-everywhere fur vest

As every city girl knows, trekking through downtown DC requires a uniform of the exceedingly fabulous variety. With so many fantastic fall festivals to look forward to in Washington this month, we know you’ll be outside for hours on end. Thank goodness there’s a stylish way to stay comfy—and stand out—while you’re at it. Lace-up combat boots, one of fall’s biggest trends, make for excellent walking wear, while a roomy tote holds all your swag. Feminine additions such as satin tap shorts are a flirty contrast to oversized oxfords, and leather and gold accessories keep pace with the urban-woodsman vibe. Look for us test-driving the style at this weekend’s Arts on Foot fest in DC’s Penn Quarter—we’ll be the chick dragging our flannel-bedecked hipster boyfriend through the glorious maze of local merchants and yummy restaurant vendors.
