Talk about a grand entrance. All photographs by Studio Nine Photography
Indian weddings never fail to blow us away: the rich colors, the lively dancing, the gorgeous ensembles, and, of course, the strong possibility that there will be a horse or an elephant present. This DC wedding, photographed by Studio Nine Photography and planned by Sonal J. Shah, looked absoultely amazing—and yes, the groom rode in on a majestic elephant.

Speaking of animals at weddings, at this Maryland military wedding, the rings were delivered by a hawk. Yes, a hawk. No, we’re not joking. And we love the whole California vibe this event’s got going on.

So much to love about this wedding. The photography by Gabe Aceves, for one. The gorgeous bride, of course. And the list goes on—the bright orange flowers in the bridesmaids’ hair, the wand bouquets, the cute little cake with a bird topper—and the first-dance song (“Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus) made us chuckle.

We very rarely see DC weddings that are totally modern, black-and-white chic, so we were thrilled to see this one at the W Hotel. Simple but stunning.
