Uptown Tap House—the new bar going into the Cleveland Park space vacated by the Four Fields—is hosting grand opening events from September 13 through 15. Uptown, sister restaurant to downtown’s Sign of the Whale, posted an ad in the Cleveland Park Listserv recently inviting readers to reserve spots for dinner and cocktail events. Dinners (with reservations from 6 to 8:30) will feature $10 wine flights, half off all appetizers, and half off all raw bar menu items. Cocktail parties from 9 to 10 will offer passed hors d’oeuvres and complimentary drinks. From 10 to midnight, the bar will again offer half price on raw bar items and half off mixed drinks, beer, and wine.

The menu at the new bar will include “locally inspired
seafood dishes, an expedition raw bar, a hand-selected wine list and over
40 beers to choose from.”

A full renovation of the space made way for a marble-topped bar, 20 televisions, hardwood floors, and a private events space. Meanwhile, the classic green awnings covering the Four Fields front patio have been replaced by bright red ones. The bar’s website promises “weekly live music and entertainment [and] daily happy hour paired with nightly specials.”

We have word in with a rep and await more details—including when Uptown will begin full service—and will update you when we have them. If you want to check in on openings for the dinner and cocktail events, contact UptownShanaDc@Gmail.com.
