Who better to give product recommendations than the women who curates your beauty
samples each month? Birchbox has grown leaps from its 2010 days as a subscription
service, blossoming into a retailer, blog, and beauty guide all in one—or, as cofounder

Katia Beauchamp put it, “your best friend beauty editor.” While in town earlier this month, the Texas-born
makeup expert let us pick her brain on up-and-coming trends, what’s next for her evolving
brand, and what it feels like to be surrounded by beauty products every day. Check
back for that soon—and read on now for her top five can’t-live-without-’em products.

1) Oscar de la Renta Live in Love Eau de Parfum Rollerball

Katia says: “Created by an iconic designer, this fragrance masters the art of being
so many things: sophisticated without feeling too old, subtle, and perfect for any
occasion. Plus the rollerball is perfect for throwing in your purse—I put it on in
the elevator on the way up to the office.”
$25 at Macy’s.

2) Lulu Organics Jasmine Hair Powder

Katia says: “If there’s one beauty regimen that I stick to, its making sure I don’t
dry out my hair by washing it too often. I love this particular dry shampoo powder
for a few reasons: It’s organic, absorbs all traces of oil, leaves no traces of white
residue, AND has a lovely jasmine scent.”
$30 at Birchbox.

3) Benefit Fine One One

Katia says: “For summer, I’m all about multiples. This multitasking swipe-on stick
is a trio of three shades that blend together to create the perfect summer color,
and works as a highlighter, blush, and lip tint.”
$30 at Sephora.

4) Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream

Katia says: “Caudalie is one of my all-time favorite skincare brands. It uses the
benefits of wine grapes, which have miraculous anti-aging properties, in each product.
The Premier Cru eye cream tackles all the main signs of aging but it also has brighteners
that immediately make the under-eye area look brighter.”
$98 at Net-a-Porter.

5) Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint

Katia says: Jouer’s Luminizing Moisture Tint is my everyday go-to. The oil-free formula
is weightless but still gives a perfect amount of coverage, plus it gives your skin
a soft and dewy look. If I need more coverage, I like to combine the light formula
with Jouer’s matte moisture tint.”
$38 at Nordstrom.
