Kristin Shelden and Matthew Acocella credit Washington for their introduction. The bride, a Michigan native, and the groom, from Connecticut, met during a class at Georgetown University, where they were both undergraduates. Naturally when it came down to the engagement, the groom, now a communications graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, chose the couple’s alma mater to propose. “Matt convinced me to have lunch on our old campus one afternoon, and proposed in front of the building where we first met at Georgetown on a cold but beautiful spring day,” says Kristin, now a student at Georgetown Law.
An elegant urban ceremony, overlooking the Washington Monument and the National Mall, followed on June 23, 2012 at the Potomac View Terrace at the American Pharmacists Association.
