Georgetown Cupcake Owners Katherine and Sophie Collaborate With BaubleBar for a Jewelry Line

The chic baking duo curated a 12-piece collection for the site—and created special cupcakes to match.

As if Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne—the sister masterminds behind Georgetown Cupcake—weren’t doing enough by churning out DC’s most popular confections, they’ve found a way to combine the treats with another of our favorite things: jewelry.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the duo has partnered with jewelry powerhouse BaubleBar to create a custom line of whimsical statement necklaces, drop earrings, and stackable rings. The 12 pieces, available on the website through the end of the month, incorporate flirty, feminine details such as blush florals and mint gemstones—reflecting what the sisters describe as a combination of their personal styles and the Georgetown Cupcake aesthetic. As a bonus, they’ve created three special-edition cupcakes inspired by the line (more on that below!), available at all locations beginning tomorrow. We spoke with Berman and LaMontagne to hear more about what inspired the collection.

How did this collaboration come about?

We were introduced to BaubleBar by a mutual contact, and given the natural fit between our brands, we immediately started discusssing ways we could partner for Valentine’s Day—it’s the perfect holiday to indulge in all things sweet and sparkle.

What was the curating process like?

The team at BaubleBar designed all the jewelry, and we curated specific pieces that reflect our own personal styles and that of Georgetown Cupcake, something we knew our fans would love. That translated into lots of sparkle and lots of pink. The pieces in our collection are all very versatile, as well—you can wear them to work, to relax on the weekend or on vacation, or for a night out or special occasion.

How would you describe your personal style? How does your collection reflect those aesthetics?

Berman: My personal style tends to be laid-back and romantic. I loved all of BaubleBar’s soft pinks and floral necklaces, and wanted to include pieces like that in our collection.

LaMontagne: My style tends to be more structured and classic, so I loved selecting the clear sparkle and the classic black-and-gold pieces in our line.

What are your favorite pieces in the collection?

Berman: My favorite is the jumbo bloom necklace in pink.

LaMontagne: I love the crystal firecracker bib necklace.

Tell me about your BaubleBar-inspired cupcakes.

To celebrate our collaboration, we’ve launched a special Sweet Sparkle collection of cupcakes this month. We have a “vanilla sparkle” cupcake inspired by BaubleBar’s clear sparkle pieces; a “pink gem” chocolate cupcake inspired by BaubleBar’s pink gem pieces; and a “gold charm” red velvet cupcake, embossed with the word “love,” inspired by BaubleBar’s romantic gold pieces. They will be available in our stores this Tuesday through Thursday.

When you started Georgetown Cupcake, was partnering with fashion brands something you envisioned?

When we started Georgetown Cupcake, we thought it was just going to be the two of us forever, and did not anticipate this growth. But from the start, our brand really resonated with customers—especially females—and we love being able to do these collaborations with fashion brands we love. We hope our fans love this jewelry collection as much as we do!
