Fashion Agenda: Soirees Galore in Old Town, Kevyn Aucoin Makeovers

Your guide to the week's most stylish events.

Numari Trunk Show at Bishop

As part of Old Town’s Boutiques Up Late series, locally based womenswear brand Numari pops up at Bishop for a trunk show this week. The brand, which specializes in made-to-measure dresses, is normally sold online only, so here’s your chance to be fitted in-person into perfectly flattering frocks. Thursday 3 to 8. 815 King St., Alexandria.

Cocktails in the Courtyard at Shoe Hive

Don’t have happy hour plans Thursday? Drop by the beloved shoe shop to enjoy cocktails in its charming courtyard while perusing the designs of accessories brand Cinco Powell. Attendees will score 20 percent off Cinco Powell items, such as monogrammed necklaces and tassel handbags. Thursday 6 to 8. 127 S. Fairfax St., Alexandria.

Sara Campbell Grand Opening Party

The girly, made-in-USA fashion label kicks off the opening of its new Old Town location this week with an in-store celebration, at which Sara Campbell herself will be in attendance. Drop by the brand new boutique—you’ll be able to spot it by its black-and-white stripes—to enjoy a glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee and small bites. Guests will earn 15 percent off all purchases. Thursday 5:30 to 8:30, Friday 10 to 1. 320 Prince St., Alexandria.

Kevyn Aucoin Makeovers at Bellacara

Artists from the iconic makeup brand will set up shop at this Old Town beauty staple this weekend, offering one-on-one makeover sessions for boutique-goers. Be sure to call the shop (703-299-9652) ahead of time to make an appointment, as slots are limited. The $45 fee is redeemable for product in-store, and gifts will also be given with purchases. Saturday 10 to 6. 1000 King St., Alexandria.

Fashion Fights Poverty at Green Festival DC

The local installation of America’s largest sustainability-focused event, taking place this weekend at the Convention Center, will feature a style-packed runway show dubbed Fashion Fights Poverty, displaying the designs of ethical and eco-concious fashion labels. Stick around after the show to learn more about the labels at the booth labeled “Fashionably Green.” Tickets ($10 to $25) to the festival are available online. All day Saturday and Sunday. 801 Mount Vernon Pl., NW.
