Saturday, January 10

Meet and Greet in Gainesville: The PetSmart in Gainesville is teaming up with the Middleburg Humane Foundation to host a meet-and-greet with animals from the foundation for prospective adopters. The event will take place from noon to 3.

Rabbit Adoption in Falls Church: The PetSmart in Falls Church is hosting an adoption event for the Animal Welfare League of Arlington’s resident rabbits. The adoptable bunnies will be located in the center of the store and ready to play. The event runs from noon to 3; if you want to adopt, you must bring a current ID.

Wednesday, January 14

Architects for Animals: Love pets and cool design? The Washington Humane Society has the event for you. The organization’s “Giving Shelter” night will showcase creative outdoor shelters designed by local architecture firms to keep homeless cats warm during the winter. The shelters will be on display from 6 to 8 PM at the American Institute of Architects. Donations of supplies for the Washington Humane Society’s animals are encouraged. You can find a list of items to bring online.

Saturday, January 17

Self Serve Pet Wash: Head over to VIP Pet in Alexandria for a Self Serve Pet Wash from 3 to 7. Cost for each dog is $15, and all of the proceeds go to the Washington Humane Society.

Sunday, January 18

Adoption Event at the Big Bad Woof (Old Takoma): The Washington Humane Society will be at the Takoma Park pet supply shop with plenty of adoptable dogs from 11 to 3. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice.

Barkley Square Mobile Grooming: Barkley Square’s Spaah Mobile will be at the Wyllie Wagg in Arlington from 11 to 5. The mobile groomer offers a variety of pampering services including facials, teeth cleaning with a spritz of breath freshener, and face and paw massages.
