Classic Pink Hotel Wedding at Decanter at the St. Regis

Nadia Powell and Joseph Husty included a cookie bar in their June 14, 2014 celebration.

There’s something about a classic hotel wedding that just sings of DC, but we absolutely love how Nadia Powell and Joseph Husty kept their nuptials fresh by choosing to host their wedding in St. Regis‘ Decanter restaurant rather than the ballroom, decorating with bunches of pale pink peonies and an overflowing dessert bar. The minimalist decor allowed the beauty of their romance to shine in these snaps by Bonnie Sen Creative Photography.

Nadia and Joe met on OkCupid, and it wasn’t long before they decided to meet in person, going for a first date at Drafting Table on 14th Street. Though Joe initially thought Nadia might be a bit high maintenance for his taste, it wasn’t long before the attraction grew. Their fate was sealed when Joe proposed in an entirely non-high-maintenance manner—still in his sweaty running clothes after the two of them went for a jog.

Their wedding on June 14, 2014 was filled with the loving assistance of friends and family—the cake was made by a friend of the bride, the flowers were arranged by her brother and his partner, and the invitations were designed by another friend of the bride. Guests dined on delicious bites, including a slider bar, and noshed on a cookie table filled with sweets.

At the end of the night, when the cocktails were drunk and the cookies eaten, Nadia and Joseph jetted off to their honeymoon in Bora Bora and French Polynesia.
