Meet Scandal Costume Designer Lyn Paolo at The Limited

On the eve of her Smithsonian Associates event, gladiators can find Emmy-winning costume designer Lyn Paolo at The Limited discussing how fashion defines character. Additionally, The Limited’s CEO, Diane Ellis, will be in attendance to celebrate the launch of their campaign, “The New Look of Leadership,” which highlights female empowerment and diversity in leadership. Gifts with any purchase will be handed out, and all attendees have the shot at a $250 gift card giveaway. The event will take place on Thursday, September 24, from 6 to 8 PM at The Limited, Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, 1100 S Hayes St., Arlington.

Old Town Boutique District Scavenger Hunt

Alexandria’s Boutique District is celebrating its 8th Annual Scavenger Hunt with opportunities aplenty for shoppers to pick up free goods and win prizes. Registration is $10, and with it is included the official scavenger hunt Baggu bag and a passport with Old Town boutiques listed on it. Stop in at each boutique to have your passport stamped–picking up free giveaways along the way–and deliver your completed passport to enter the drawing for the grand prize: a visit to the Lorien Hotel & Spa and $1,000 of gift cards to Old Town shops. The Good Wife Costume Designer Daniel Lawson at Saks

Kick off your Saturday with a healthy dose of fashion at Saks Fifth Avenue. Daniel Lawson, costume designer for The Good Wife, and Kate Bennett, Politico reporter for “The KGB File,” will join forces to chat fall trends and workwear. An exclusive presentation of Lafayette 148 New York Fall 2015 will start at 11 AM, followed by a chance to chat one-on-one with Lawson about dressing for work. The event will take place on September 26 at Saks Fifth Avenue, 5555 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase.

Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair

The 12th Perrennial Crafty Bastards market is going down this weekend with the help of 170 artisans from around the country. The arts fair is hosted by Washington City Paper, bringing together vendors in 12 different categories: books and paper goods, clothing, ceramics, jewelry, bath and body care, and more. The fair will run 10 AM to 5 PM Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, in the parking lot in front of Union Market, 1309 5th St., NW. Purchase tickets here.

Bellajenna Pop-Up at West Elm

Local stationer Bellajenna will be spending Sunday afternoon at Logan Circle’s West Elm. Check out the selection of simple and sweet greeting cards with their petite illustrations, and munch on sweets from Buttercream Bakeshop while you browse. The pop-up will run from noon to 5 PM on September 27 at West Elm Logan Circle, 1728 14th St., NW.
