Beautiful Blush and Navy Country Club Wedding in Arlington

We love that Daniel Rossi and Julia Jacobs’ wedding had a bit of Southern preppiness to it, while still being so timeless and elegant. Subtle blush tones and the beautiful property of their reception space made for a stunning, light-filled celebration, all captured by Kristen Gardner Photography.

Though Dan and Julia were both students at Elon University and had a few overlapping friendships, it wasn’t until after graduation that they really got to know one another. Julia was working as a hostess at Clarendon’s Boulevard Woodgrill when Dan came in to eat with his roommate at the time. At the end of the meal, Dan walked up to the pretty brunette at the hostess stand and asked her if she had attended Elon. By the end of the conversation, Dan had her phone number, leading to a first date in Clarendon.

They’d dated for three years when they made plans to picnic at Potomac Overlook Park in Arlington. They ate Italian subs, and just as Julia was stretching out for a nap, Dan asked quietly, “Will you marry me?” Emotions jumping from shock to joy to excitement, Julia managed to say yes.

For their beautiful September wedding, Julia filled the day with personal touches—wearing her mother’s diamond earrings for the ceremony and trading them for her sister-in-law’s wedding earrings for the reception and wrapping Dan’s grandmother’s lace handkerchief around her bouquet. At the reception, Dan made the touching move to ask Julia’s mother to dance the second half of the mother-son dance with him.

Guests sipped “The Rossi” custom cocktail—a Pimm’s Cup with ginger ale, cucumber slices, lemon wedges, and fresh mint—and ate from the mini cupcake tower that stood in place of a tiered cake. At the end of the festivities, Dan and Julia left under a sparkler send-off with plans for a honeymoon in Hawaii.
