With Thanksgiving come and gone and the National Christmas Tree lit up for all of DC to see, the holiday season is officially in full swing. Now through the end of December, visitors of The Yards in Navy Yard can celebrate the season and steal a kiss or two—or eight—at eight mistletoe-incorporated installations.

Custom designed by Design Foundry, the installations include everything from a java-inspired archway made of 110 coffee cups to a human-sized doghouse, so you can share the love with your furry friends.

“We were looking for something different and fun to celebrate the holiday season, something that people would talk about,” says Jill Fredrick, Regional Marketing Director of Forest City/The Yards.  “We took inspiration from our love of pets and the outdoors [to] our amazing restaurants and retailers, and tried to hit all the things we think make the Yards special.”

Requiring about 18 hours of assembly work and 25 hours onsite, Design Foundry utilized not only mistletoe but other materials ranging from 500 corks to bicycle wheels donated by DC non-profit  Gearin’ Up Bicycles to make each of the installations reflective of the Yards community.

With all the mistletoe around, don’t be surprised if you see couples kissing this month or trying to grab the perfect picture. And if you post your pictures to social media using the hashtag #DeckTheYards you’ll be entered to win a gift card to one of the neighborhood’s many restaurants.
