What’s special: The Breakers is where the movers-and-shakers of the early 20th century—the Rockefellers, the Vanderbilts, the Astors, and J.P. Morgan—vacationed. Today, the resort is a combination of historic architecture and modern luxury. Guests enjoy rich linens, plush bathrobes, complimentary high-speed wi-fi, and a complimentary newspaper. Its premier oceanfront location, with a half-mile private beach, is an oasis where guests will find four pools, five whirlpool spas, multiple bars, and nine restaurants. The beach provides a launchpad for water sports—scuba and snorkeling tours, kayaking, paddle-boarding, Hobie Cat riding, or a sunset catamaran cruise. The resort’s Ocean Course has fairways that weave between sandy hazards and six lakes. Or golf The Breakers Rees Jones Course, a championship course set amid lush foliage and numerous water hazards in the style of a nature preserve. Guests can play tennis on one of 10 Har-Tru courts, head to the state-of-the-art fitness center, or be pampered at the spa. If you want to leave the resort, nearby Worth Avenue is the place for high-end shopping, great architecture, and cafes and restaurants.

The deal: The Breakers Palm Beach Summer Promotion includes their extensive breakfast buffet at The Circle or The Beach Club Restaurant, free meals for kids ages 12 and under, unlimited golf and tennis (cart fee applies), and unlimited access to the Ocean Fitness center and group fitness classes. Plus, there is never a resort fee. Rates start at $369 per room during the week and $469 on weekends, a saving of almost 50 percent compared to winter rates.
