Listen Up! Fall Preview Edition

This week, Listen Up!—our music column featuring songs from bands and performers performing in the area—takes a look at the fall lineup of artists coming to town.

Here at After Hours, we’ve been having a hard time letting go of our summer memories, but the weekend’s stellar Walkmen concert helped us get our groove back and welcome the fall with outstretched arms. Turns out there’s plenty of good music to look forward to. We can hardly wait for the latest psychedelic-pop tune from Of Montreal and Jenny Lewis’s return to solo territory—sans the Watson Twins this time around. Then there’s Australia’s success story of the year: Cut Copy, stopping by the 9:30 Club after selling out the Black Cat in May. Come October, local darlings Jukebox the Ghost and These United States will test allegiances by playing at different venues on the same night. In November, Kings of Leon will set the season’s last dry leaves on fire with a show at DAR Constitution Hall.

Which bands or performers are you looking forward to seeing this fall? Leave us your thoughts in the comments section. If there’s someone we left off our playlist, let us know and we’ll add your suggestions!
