Prada Opens at Tysons

The fashion brand’s first freestanding store in the Washington area is now open at Tysons Galleria.

Prada is officially in business in Washington. The Italian fashion house opened its doors at Tysons Galleria (Tysons II) in McLean on Thursday morning and joins an impressive roster of other luxe brands on Level 2. Ritzy neighbors include Saint Laurent, Salvatore Ferragamo, Versace, Tory Burch, Mulberry, Ralph Lauren, and Gucci, among others. Needless to say, the highly anticipated store opening is in good company. Designed by Italian architect Roberto Baciocchi, the 320-square-foot store boasts a rich marble interior with steel finishes and will carry both men’s and women’s bags, accessories, leather goods, shoes, and ready-to-wear. You’ll know when you arrive once you see Prada’s signature black and white-checkered marble floor—a defining element of the brand.

The Saffiano bag is available for purchase, and also comes in plum ($3,700).
