Tuesday, November 18: The Corcoran Gallery of Art is hosting a lecture by David Yurman, an internationally recognized designer of swoon-worthy luxury jewelry, beginning at 7 PM. Yurman will discuss his journey from a respected sculptor (who knew?) to famed jewelry designer as well as his thoughts on the artistic process and branding strategy that led to his company’s global success. Wednesday, November 19: Sip Champagne and munch on cupcakes during a holiday shopping event hosted by the Network of Entrepreneurial Women, a local organization that supports women-owned businesses. The event will be at SimplySoles in DC’s Columbia Heights from 5 to 8 PM. Featured vendors (all local and women-owned) include the Alchimie Forever beauty line, the sample-sale store Treat, and the Arlington boutique Sisters 3. Gift bags go to the first 50 to arrive. Thursday, November 20: Enjoy Lululemon’s free yoga events last week? Come out again to celebrate at the Georgetown location’s grand opening from 6 to 10 PM. There’ll be live entertainment, a DJ, appetizers, Champagne, and chocolate—could you ask for anything more?

From 8 to 10 PM, Current Boutique is hosting a shopping event with the Little Black Dress Club, a women’s social group. Friday, November 21:
From 7 to 11 PM, come out to Fashion Forward, a charity fashion show to benefit the Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund. Runway models, Redskins cheerleaders, and Washington Wizards Girls will show off the fall 2008 collection of the DC-based brand iKY Clothing. The event, held at Shadow Room, will feature a two-hour open bar with hors d’oeuvres and cupcakes by Georgetown Cupcake. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. Saturday, November 22: Looking for some unique and crafty holiday gifts? Lofty Salon & Wellness Center (loftysalon.com) in Vienna is hosting an artisan trunk show, where local vendors will be showcasing their jewelry, ceramics, clothing, handbags, and artwork. In addition, the Lois Hill (loishill.com) holiday jewelry collection will be 15 percent off from this Saturday through December 6.
