Women all over Washington are freaking out—and rightfully so—about the long-anticipated openings of Georgetown and Bethesda outposts of Drybar, the wildly popular LA-based no cut, no color, just $40 blowout chain, happening this Friday. To kick off the fun, Drybar has brought a 13-foot, working version of Buttercup, the company’s official hair dryer mascot, along for the ride—and it’s giving free blowouts to the first ten people who spot her around town.
“Buttercup represent[s] the fun, playful, and whimsical side of our company,” says Drybar founder Alli Webb. “To help celebrate our long-awaited arrival in DC, we wanted to do something special, different, and larger than life!”
To win, you’ll need to tweet or post a pic of Buttercup to Facebook (use the hashtag #DrybarinDC or tag @thedrybar). To improve your chances of winning, here’s a rundown of a few places you’ll find her in the next few days:
Thursday, October 18
8 to 11 AM: Drybar Georgetown (1825 Wisconsin Ave., NW)
Noon to 2: Drybar Bethesda (4840 Bethesda Ave.)
2:30 to 6: Bethesda Lane on Bethesda Row
Sunday, October 21
11 to 4: The Bethesda Row Arts Festival (also Bethesda Lane at Bethesda Row)
Friday and Saturday Buttercup will be traveling throughout the District, so you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled. A PR stunt this size is pretty hard to miss, though.
