15 Office-Appropriate Tank Tops

These sleeveless blouses will get you through the last dregs of August.

Skirting up for work in the sticky August heat is not exactly high on our list of favorite fashion activities. The city is deserted, coworkers are constantly rotating through vacations, our go-to shopping sites are tempting us with warm and fuzzy (and infinitely more layerable) fall looks—let’s just say we’re not fired up to create new office-appropriate ensembles. What we can do, though, is invest in one or two more sleeveless shells to last us till September. Right now, they’ll keep us cool in the sticky Washington summer, and when the temps drop, they’ll look just as cute under new jackets and cardis. Here, a roundup of 15 solid (and some seriously affordable) options from some of our favorite stores.

I do give credit for digging a little deeper and finding something from Nasty Gal. However, in terms of fashion, this collection is a poor definition of "tank tops." Call them alternatives, but do not call them tank tops. Tank tops are a sacred piece of any fashion collection that is daring and sexual, simple and sleek. Some of these border on cropped sleeve dresses and embellished sleeveless blouses.
