We reported back in January that H&M was planning to open its third DC store in the former Filene’s Basement space at 1133 Connecticut Avenue, Northwest—and now the wait is finally over. The store will celebrate its grand opening at noon on Thursday, August 7, according to H&M’s Facebook page.
The event will include a deejay and special offers for the first 100 people in line. And a bonus for those who need to make some space in their closets: Shoppers who bring old clothes to be recycled before the store opens at noon will be entered to win a gift card valued somewhere between $50 and $100, according to the event page.
