A Farm Wedding in Purcellville, a French-Inspired Engagement Party in Bethesda, and a Modern Maryland Affair

We do the research so you don’t have to: inspiring DC-area weddings from our favorite blogs

A sweet moment at the Purcellville farm wedding. Photograph by Cramer Photo

What a sweet story! Classic Bride’s Sarah Darcy sold her wedding gown to Virginia bride Kim, and shared Kim’s wedding photos on her blog this week. Such a lovely, rustic event at Grandale Farm in Purcellville (hooray for nearby farm venues!), with photography (including the shot above) by Cramer Photo.
Classic Bride

This French garden engagement party in Bethesda can be described in just one word: chic. The bride-to-be’s watercolor Monique Lhuillier gown is beyond amazing.
Style Me Pretty

Allium is one of our favorite blooms—we love their purple hue and modern, spherical shape. They were incorporated beautifully into this wedding at Woodend Nature Sanctuary and Redwood Restaurant, in Bethesda. Plus, we’re total suckers for purple and gray weddings in general. (The author used it at her own wedding last year!)
United With Love

An engagement shoot with a bride in an adorable madras dress, a man in uniform, and 12-week-old springer spaniel puppy named Bailey? We’re sold.

Grab your headphones, here’s a video of a real wedding to kick off your weekend. Such lovely cinematography from Shaking Hands Productions in this Charlottesville wedding video.
