How Sydney Wears It: Summer Maxi Skirts

This easy warm-weather staple is equal parts comfy and chic.

We’ve already covered why maxi skirts are great for winter–now it’s time to discuss continuing the trend into the summer months. At first glance, a full-length skirt may seem best suited for trapping warmth, but when made in the right material, maxis can be your best bet for light, cool, and easy warm-weather style. Here are three breezy ways I’ll be wearing mine this summer.

Pretty in Pink

For a comfy, laid-back look that doesn’t sacrifice style, try buttoning up a denim jacket and wearing it alone with a cotton maxi. Denim goes with anything, so feel free to play with color or stick with neutrals.

Brown but Not Boring

Want to dress your maxi up a bit? Try topping it off with a boyfriend blazer and a blouse with feminine detailing, like lace. Wearing the skirt high on your waist (don’t forget the belt) will emphasize curves.

Seeing Neon

This neon top speaks volumes on its own, so I kept the rest of the outfit simple. A gray jersey knit maxi provides maximum comfort and simple sophistication.
