What I Wear to Work: The Real Estate Marketer

Molly Burns impresses clients in bold necklaces and bright teal.

Who: Molly Burns, 24

Account executive, Merrick Towle Communications

What I do: I work for an advertising agency called Merrick Towle Communications, a full-service
advertising agency that specializes in real estate marketing. My job is to communicate
my clients’ needs and work with our team to provide strategic marketing solutions.
This entails everything from creative presentations to project timeline construction.

My work style: Feminine and edgy. I typically try to pair one edgy piece with more subtle touches.
My go-to pieces are chunky statement necklaces, sheath dresses, blazers, and interesting
heels. I can pair a black sheath dress with a chunky necklace and great shoes and
still look professional.

Client Meeting

The long skirt is tailored, chic, and in a great pattern, and the color of the blouse adds that feminine touch. These shoes are amazing—Chinese Laundry is one of my favorite brands because the shoes are affordable and comfortable.

Rare Day in the Office

On the rare occasion that I don’t have any client meetings, I love to keep it super
comfortable. This outfit is just that—and it’s cute! These teal jeans are perfect
because they are super soft and stretchy, and I love this white collared tank because
it’s so versatile and goes with everything.

Work to Happy Hour

I absolutely love this dress. The dark colors keep it tame enough for the office,
but the pattern is great for going out. The necklace ties it all together. It’s made
completely of fishing materials by a DC-based jewelry line called Motley. I get so
many compliments on it.
