Both currently active duty army captain doctors, Henry and Liz first crossed paths while attending Bethesda’s Uniformed Services University for medical school. They struck up a conversation during a post-exam celebration, and in the joyous relief of having the test behind them, sparks flew. Their first date took them to Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights for burgers and beers, followed by cheesecake at Room 11 down the street.

Though Liz had told Henry an engagement ring wouldn’t be necessary, he secretly picked out a stunning diamond ring from sustainable jeweler Brilliant Earth. After a night’s stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Henry pulled out the ring at sunrise in front of the Lincoln Memorial.

Liz and Henry celebrated their marriage on May 23, 2015 with chevron-filled reception. They said their vows outdoors beneath a stunning floral arch, then entered the pink-and-blue bedecked Torpedo Factory for dancing, Pimm’s Cup cocktails, and lemon cake.

After a night of partying with their nearest and dearest, Liz and Henry departed for a blissful honeymoon in the Virgin Islands.
