Smithsonian Folklife Festival: From Thursday to Sunday, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival is celebrating “resilient communities” around the world, including the Basque country of northern Spain and southwestern France, as well as regions in California. As always, food is a centerpiece of the festival. You can dig into traditional Basque dishes like paprika pork sausages, bean and vegetable stew, and a crab burger. Since California cuisine is influenced by Mexico and Asia, there’ll be an array of tacos and Thai dishes. Food concession tents are open every day from 11 am to 8:45 pm.

National Porn Day at The Black Squirrel: Of all the National fill-in-the-blank Days, The Black Squirrel picked the raunchiest one of the year: National Porn Day, going down on Friday. They’re getting creative with it, offering specials like “The Kim Kardashian burger,” two beef patties wedged between “you-have-to-be-kidding buns in High West Mumbo sauce.” Randy beers go for happy hour prices between 4 and 7 pm, including Devils BackBone Tommy Two-Fists and Sixpoint Sweet Action.

Food Truck Friday: Truckeroo, the monthly food truck festival held at the Fairgrounds (1299 Half Street, SE) brings street eats to Navy Yard from 11 am to 11 pm on Friday. Entrance is free; and guests can shop around for the best eats from trucks like BBQ Bus, DC Empanadas, Peruvian Brothers, The Big Cheese, Sloppy Mama’s, Korean BBQ Taco Box and many more. Cold beer and lawn games round out the fun.

Sweet tour: Tour five of Georgetown’s sweetest dessert boutiques on Saturday from noon to 2 pm. The itinerary includes Olivia Macaron, Thomas Sweet, Patisserie Poupon, Macaron Bee, and lastly, Georgetown Cupcakes. Six tastings are included in the $50 ticket, available online.

Port City pub crawl: Port City Brewing Company is throwing its 3rd annual Port City pub crawl in Old Town Alexandria on Saturday from 2 to 6 pm. Just show up at any of the participating venues—O’Connell’s, Virtue Feed and Grain, Union Street Public House, Fish Market, Chadwicks, Bugsy’s, Blackwall Hitch or Pizzeria Paradiso—between 2 and 3 pm, and get crawlin’. It’s free to participate, but the beer and pizza is on you.

Rosé wine dinner: Join Al Dente Ristorante near American University for a three-course dinner with six different hand-picked rosés on Sunday at 6 pm. The menu includes crispy head-on shrimp, a slow roast lamb shoulder over beet risotto, and grilled peaches. The meal plus wine is $48 per person.

And get ready for next week…

DC Brau’s Crabfest: Crack open all the crabs you can eat and wash them down with cold DC Brau beer at the brewery’s 5th Annual Crabfest on Monday at Arlington’s Quarterdeck restaurant from 5 to 10 pm. Guest can crack unlimited crabs for $50, and cool down with $1 drafts or $5 pitchers.
