There’s something so elegant about weddings where everyone wears white. They’re classic, and they’re perfect for the dead of winter, which is when Alexandra (Ali) Cavin and Jon Cameron (Cam) Hellmuth celebrated their nuptials, captured in the pictures below by Kristen Gardner Photography.
After a mutual friend introduced Ali and Cam at a party, both came away from the conversation impressed. Ali found Cam to be quite the gentleman, while Cam was charmed by Ali’s love for sports. They met up for dinner at Guapos in Shirlington, and since then it’s remained on their roster of Mexican restaurants they’ve frequented together.
They’d been dating for four years when they took a trip to Bethany Beach, Delaware, to celebrate their favorite holiday, the Fourth of July. As the sun was beginning to set, Cam got down one knee on the beach and proposed. Afterwards, they watched the fireworks go off as they celebrated their new engagement.
Six months later, Ali walked down the aisle to Cam at Alexandria’s Old Presbyterian Meeting House, where Cam’s great grandparents were members. They kept to a chic winter white color palette, accented with the greenery in the florals and touches of gold in the tablescapes.
After dancing to Elvis’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love” and cutting into their raspberry and buttercream cake, the newlyweds exited under a sparkler send-off, with plans to honeymoon in the British Virgin Islands.
