Known for fusing downtown style with Hollywood glamour, the eclectic British brand AllSaints Spitalfields has found fans in celebs like Halle Berry, Justin Timberlake, and Fergie. So it comes as no surprise that the Georgetown store, officially open for business last Friday, embodies the brand’s unique flair for grungy glamour and unexpected detailing.

The expansive two-story shop is brimming with reclaimed furniture and artifacts. Fringed handbags hang from industrial gears. Hand-painted tees and denim shorts sit atop repurposed printing presses. A towering wall of antique sewing machines—a signature fixture in every AllSaints store—spans the entire second-floor window. And while the vintage-inspired brand looks back in time for décor inspiration, the shopping experience couldn’t be more modern: iPads throughout the space provide instant access to their online store.

The AllSaints women’s collection offers everything from shimmery frocks and bejeweled accessories to leather jackets and premium denim. Their latest styles, in stores now, mix rock ’n’ roll chic with rugged femininity—think distressed leather boots, flowing maxi dresses, and kaleidoscope minis flecked with sequins—and celebs are already fans. Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon sparkled in the Aztec Dress ($460) at this year’s Vanity Fair Oscar Party. The brand’s footwear line has also taken the Hollywood Hills by storm—Rihanna and Jessica Alba have been spotted in the Military Boot ($295), while Ashley Greene and Miley Cyrus have sported the Damisi Boot ($295) on several occasions. [A note about sizing from our British editor Sophie Gilbert: AllSaints, for whatever esoteric reason, uses British sizing, which might be confusing if you're not aware of it beforehand. Sizes tend to range from a UK 6 to a 14 (around a US 0 to an 8/10), so don't be dispirited if the size 8 you grabbed doesn't get past your ankles.]

Housed upstairs, The men’s line boasts a seemingly endless supply of fitted blazers, striped knits, and slim trousers. Joe Jonas recently dressed-down in the Delta Hood Crew ($110), while Hayden Christensen laced-up in the Military Boot ($299).

Some are quick to lump AllSaints in with other European imports like Topshop and H&M, but the brand isn’t geared towards discount shoppers. With prices ranging from $60 for graphic tees to $900 for leather jackets, AllSaints falls somewhere between megabrands like J. Crew and upscale labels like Alice + Olivia. We recommend heading in for investment pieces you’ll wear through multiple seasons, like the Velutina One-Shoulder Dress ($549) or Heston Jacket ($440).

A sneak peak at AllSaint’s upcoming collection revealed an alluring mix of python prints, classic trench coats, and elegantly draped tops. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait until Fall to sample these fashionable gems for yourself, but there’s plenty to choose from until then.
