Win VIP Tickets to Taste of the Nation

Here’s how you could go to one of the year’s biggest food events for free.

Few food events in Washington draw as many all-star chefs, bartenders, and sommeliers as Taste of the Nation. The annual benefit for the No Kid Hungry campaign gathers more than 75 bars and restaurants—many of whom top our 100 Very Best List— at the National Building Museum, with all proceeds helping to end childhood hunger in America. This year’s gala, on Monday, March 31, promises to be the biggest yet, with a new food truck room for sampling street-style eats from eight vendors, and a local marketplace for grazing on samples from Righteous Cheese, Olivia Macaron, and more. How do you score tickets? We can help.

One lucky winner of our online contest will receive two free VIP tickets to the party, normally priced at $165 each. The special passes allow early entry at 6; given that the organizers expect more than 1,600 guests, first dibs on food and cocktails from the Source, Del Campo, Proof, and many others is a big plus.

The focus of the event is helping children across America, so to enter to win the tickets, tell us what dish you think tastes most like your hometown and why. Leave your answer in the comments, and we’ll pick the best. The winner will be announced on Monday at noon.

Even if your answer doesn’t take the big win, all of our readers can receive 20 percent off general admission ticket purchases by using the passcode TOTNWASH. Good luck!

Which dish tastes most like your home town or city? Leave your answer below in the comments.
