Where & When: What to Do Tonight

What do seven clowns, Top Chef, and a pig roast have in common? You can enjoy them all tonight.

Come to Mead Theatre Lab at Flashpoint for the opening night of Dog & Pony DC’s latest production, Separated at Birth, a seven-person clown show with a set resembling the Metro. From interns to tourists, the show breaks down the daily drudge of public transportation. It runs through August 29. Tickets ($15) are available here. 8 PM.

Bethesda’s Redwood Restaurant and Bar is celebrating its second anniversary with live music, drink specials, and a screening of tonight’s Top Chef DC episode. Enjoy music by local jazz artist Donato Soviero and Latin-jazz band Trio Caliente. At 9, the lights will dim and guests will have seats facing a 16-by-18-foot jumbo screen to watch the show. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served. 7 PM.

Visit Alexandria’s Jackson 20 for a night of barbecue at Pig-a-Palooza. Chef Dennis Marron is preparing a slow-roasted whole pig to make pulled pork, Mahogany barbecue, East Carolina barbecue, and ribs. Sides include potato salad, cole slaw, smoked corn, cornbread with maple butter, green-bean salad, soft rolls, and seasonal pies. Pre-dinner happy hour is available from 3 to 7. Tickets can be reserved for $35 dollars in advance and $45 at the door; call 703-842-2790 to make reservations. Dinner will be ready at 6:30.
