Things to Do

It’s Free Yoga Time!

From May 15 through 22, several yoga studios are offering free and $5 yoga classes to DC residents. Here’s how to get in on the action.

Get ready, get set . . . stretch! Yoga may not be the most fast-paced sport, but it’s one that’s good not just for your body but your mind as well. Too bad your wallet feels differently: Yoga classes don’t usually come cheap.

That’s where DC Yoga Week comes in. From May 15 through 22, several yoga studios are offering free and $5 yoga classes to DC residents. Don’t miss the kick-off event this Saturday, Yoga on the Mall, which brings together yoga devotees near the Washington Monument for a free outdoor session suitable for all ages and skill levels.

This year, 14 studios are participating: Bikram Yoga on Capitol Hill, Dupont, and Tenleytown; Boundless Yoga; Capitol Hill Yoga; Circle Yoga & Budding Yogis; Flow Yoga Center; Past Tense Yoga; Quiet Mind Yoga; SomaFit; Spiral Flight Yoga; Studio Serenity; Tranquil Space; Unity Woods Yoga Center;
