Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

What to do this week for fun!

Monday: $1 Movie Watching
Before aging backwards in David Fincher’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Brad Pitt played a dimwitted gym employee who stumbles upon a disk full of CIA secrets in Burn After Reading. The film, which co-stars John Malkovich, George Clooney and the always spectacular Frances McDormand, plays at the Arlington Cinema ‘N’ Drafthouse at 9:50 as part of the movie theatre’s $1 Movie Monday Night special. Tickets can be purchased at the box-office.

Tuesday: One Final Meeting Place Movie
The Washington Psychotronic Society just can't seem to catch a break. After looking for a permanent home, they seemed to have found one at the Meeting Place, and every Tuesday they hosted their delightfully wacky film screenings. But they've been kicked out of the bar for now, and so tonight will be their final screening there. Go check out MegaForce, a 1982 film about a group of elite American soldiers who fight evil wherever they find it. $2 suggested donation at the door.

Wednesday: Artistically Drinking
Surely you know Artomatic, the great free-for-all art event that happens once a year. Anyone can show their stuff, and it's a fantastic community event. Well, the Artomatic organization is continuing their fun throughout the year with their monthly happy hours, one of which will be taking place tonight at Science Club starting at 6. Mingle, talk art, and have fun.

Thursday: Antiques Abound
Always hunting through thrift stores for that treasure? Can't get enough of Antique Roadshow? Then you'll want to head to the Washington Antiques Show, which kicks off today at American University's Katzen Center and goes through the weekend. Over 40 antiques dealers will be showing off their wares. Tickets are $15 at the door.
