The Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Moving Image series presents an evening with digital-media artist Cory Arcangel at 7 in the McEvoy Auditorium. Arcangel will discuss his various projects, including video games and obsolete computer systems.
Friday, March 6
Jazz guitarists Philip Catherine and Sylvain Luc will perform in the Library of Congress’s Coolidge Auditorium at 8. This event’s free tickets are all taken, but more seats will made available for guests who come early and wait in the standby line. Call 202-707-5502 for more information.
Saturday, March 7
The National Gallery of Art screens the Japanese film Cruel Story of Youth in the East Building auditorium at 4. The movie, released in 1960, follows the exploits of a thrill-seeking teenager and a university student.
Sunday, March 8
Three members of the Smithsonian Chamber Players—pianist Audrey Andrist, violinist/violist James Stern, and cellist Kenneth Slowik—will perform works by Beethoven and Brahms in the Museum of American Art’s McEvoy Auditorium at 3. The concert is part of the museum’s Steinway series.
