Tartan Day, which celebrates Scottish heritage, is April 6, and the British gastropub Againn has food and drink specials throughout the week to mark the occasion. Haggis with mashed potatoes are available to order, and there are $5 Rob Roys during happy hour (4 to 7).
Tuesday: Say My Name
Religion and art collide in Round House Theatre’s production of My Name Is Asher Lev. The play, which our reviewer calls “powerful,” centers on a talented Hasidic Jewish artist torn between his traditions and his creative process. Wednesday: Presidential Discussion
New Yorker editor David Remnick discusses his new book, The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama, with NPR’s Michele Norris at the Avalon Theatre. Thursday: (You,) Me and Mia
In the past, the punk-rock artist Ted Leo and his band the Pharmacists have sold out shows at the Black Cat in a matter of minutes, so it makes sense that the band would book the larger 9:30 Club for its latest tour.
