Things to Do

Where & When: This Week in Washington Nightlife

We've got the nightlife fun, with great things to do Monday through Thursday.

Monday: A Week of French Film
Tonight, the Alliance Francaise de Washington kicks off their second annual week of French short films. The best of French shorts from 2008 will be screened all over this week at locations like Goethe-Institut, the Hillwood Museum Estate and Gardens, the National Gallery of Art and Bistro Lounge Napoleon. Tonight, head to the Alliance Francaise at 6:30 for the screenings. $8; call 202-234-7911 to reserve a spot.

Tuesday: Taste Wine and Chocolate
Why wait till Saturday to celebrate Valentine's? Head to Domasoteca Wine and Cheese Shop in Arlington for a wine and chocolate tasting today at 5 PM. $15 per person, $25 per couple.

Wednesday: Love Songs
Celebrate Valentine's Day with a special edition of the popular iPod Jukebox night at Saint-Ex. Create a 12-minute iPod playlist of your best romantic (or, who are we kidding, anti-love works too) songs, pass it off to the DJ, and listen to other's playlists as well. The DJs will be screening episodes of "The Love Boat" all night to set the mood. 9 PM; free. Need more love inspiration? Check out our Valentine's Day Guide.

Thursday: Heart Art
Head to the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria this evening for Second Thursday Art Night—and today, it's heart and Valentine's-themed. Browse the open studios, chat with artists, go on a heart-themed scavenger hunt, hear live music and enjoy refreshments. And, aww, the first 300 guests tonight will receive a flower. 6 PM, free.
