Romantic Mountain Retreat

What’s special: A stone chateau atop Huckleberry Mountain is home to this bed-and-breakfast in the northern Pocono Mountains. It was built during the Depression by mining magnate Joseph Hirshhorn, who brought German and Italian artisans in to erect a “summer retreat.” The roof is made of Spanish slate, the windows are leaded glass, and much of the interior wood is cypress and cedar.
