Here at Shop Around, we’re huge proponents of shopping local (have you seen our September issue?)--it’s hard to justify spending hundreds at a mainstream department store when there’s a fierce, one-of-a-kind jewelry maker right next door. But Washington’s creative talent certainly isn’t limited to the brick-and-mortar shops that line Old Town or U Street or Bethesda Row; so many of our designers, artists, antiques collectors, and more live online in the treasure trove that is Etsy. Click through our slideshow for a glimpse at some of our favorite items from these talented sellers on the community site, who offer everything from cosmetics to cleaning supplies to stationery.
