Bethesda Row’s Summer Sidewalk Sale
Bethesda’s annual outdoor sale kicks off, featuring live entertainment and special discounts from lots of boutiques, including Amethyst, Francesca’s, Lou Lou, Luna, Sassanova, Lucy, and more. Deals you’ll find: Wear it Well offers tees from Michael Stars and Velvet at 40 percent off, plus summer scarves for $9.99; Urban Country gives 20 percent off decorative accessories and gifts; and Pink Palm discounts its sale merch up to 75 percent. Old Town’s Christmas in July
For the fourth year, Alexandria’s Union Street celebrates Christmas in July, during which 15 Old Town retailers and organizations will offer shopping deals and family-friendly activities. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the local children’s literacy charity the Reading Connection. Among the in-store festivities: Zoe Boutique throws a one-day-only Black Saturday sale, featuring discounts that increase with each additional purchase, plus a trunk show and personal appearance from Alexandria native turned NYC designer Kathlin Argiro, who will create fashion sketches for customers; Coco Blanca hosts a painting demo and trunk show with local artist Martha Lechner Spak, and the Lucky Knot will feature a Sperry Topsiders trunk show and giveaways from the brand. Frugalista Fashion Night
Consignment boutique Current throws a budget-friendly fashion soiree, featuring a pop-up shop spotlighting the baubles of Stella & Dot.
