We love a cute dress as much as the next girl. But in the thick of warm-weather months, when riding bikes and playing in parks feels practically mandatory, a dress just doesn’t always make as much sense. Enter rompers. These one-piece wonders (also known as jumpsuits, playsuits, and jumpers) are easy-breezy for summertime and, when done right, super chic to boot. A looser silhouette is key: Avoid the skintight styles at all costs—you want a shape that has some movement but still maintains a bit of structure. That can mean a blousy top or billowy long sleeves with a slimmer bottom, or a crossover neckline paired with a defined waistline.

Wear a belt: A waist-cincher (either built in or as an add-on) will define and flatter your figure, which keeps the look from being too childish.

Pick a shoe that can hold its own: That means no flip-flips. These styles can veer casual, so making the effort with accessories is crucial.
