Can’t-Miss Valentine’s Day Beauty and Shopping Deals

Wanna save some money on V-Day shopping and primping this year? Here’s where to go.

Urban Country (7117 Arlington Rd., Bethesda)

This luxury home furnishings shop in Bethesda is hosting a men’s-only shopping event
this Thursday from 6 to 9 PM, during which staffers will stay past store hours to
help men pick out gifts for their significant others. They’re serving free beer and
snacks, which is a pretty brilliant way to get the guys into a place they might otherwise
avoid.

Drybar (1825 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 4840 Bethesda Ave., Bethesda)

Valentine’s Day date night is the perfect excuse to
get a fresh blowout. And if you
book yours on the 13th, 14th, or 15th at any Drybar location,
you’ll get to take home
one of the chain’s brand new hair products

for free. You can make an appointment online.

Michael Andrews Bespoke (1604 17th St., NW)

Couples who book appointments (through February 28) together and purchase a Primo
suit at this new custom menswear shop will walk out with the “perfect pair” package,
a complimentary set that includes a silk tie, a pocket square, cufflinks, and socks—valued
at around $200. Another perk: gratis cocktails.

United Colors of Benetton (1200 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 1666 Connecticut Ave., NW; 1100 S. Hayes St., Arlington)

More free stuff: In honor of Valentine’s Day, receive Benetton’s Let’s Love fragrance
free with any $125 purchase made on Tuesday February 12. Tip: Shades of pink and red stand
out in the just-launched spring collection at this store, making it a nice option
for V-Day outfits.

Bella Bethesda (4733 Elm St., Bethesda)

Every year around Valentine’s Day, Bella hosts its We <3 Your Hair event, at which
customers can have their hair cut and styled for free if they donate ten inches (which
ultimately benefits Locks of Love). That’s from February 10 through 17 this year,
and on the 13th, the salon will stay open until 11 and offer 50 percent off all services,
the proceeds of which will go toward the same charity.

Take5 Boutique (4920 Fairmont Ave., Bethesda)

For a luxe shopping experience, head to Take5 this Saturday from 2 to 7 PM for a Valentine’s
Day open house. Enjoy Champagne, chocolate, and music as on-site stylists offer shopping
advice. Spend $250 to earn a “special surprise” from the retailer, which sells clothing
and accessories by Turkish and other European designers. RSVP to lovefashion@take5boutique.com.

Aura Spa (1517 15th St., NW; 999 9th St., NW)

From February 11 through 17, Aura Spa will offer the hot cocoa massage ($105), a Swedish
massage infused with warm chocolate massage oil; it includes Champagne, truffles,
and a take-home bottle of the chocolate oil. On February 15, the Metropole location
is hosting a Valentine’s couple massage workshop from 7:30 to 8:30: For $110 per couple
you get a Champagne toast, a swag bag, and an hour-long lesson on how to give each
other excellent massages. Call 202-588-5557 or 202-742-1940 to book reservations
for both services.

Relâche Spa (201 Waterfront St., National Harbor)

Special Valentine’s Day-themed services are offered through the end of the month at this Gaylord hotel spa. There’s the chocolate-themed Ultimate Couples Indulgence massage for $230, as well as the Velvet Indulgence package—a body scrub, massage, and strawberry-Champagne manicure for $370.

Kate Spade (3061 M St., NW)

For flirty pink items and heart-shaped accessories, drop by Kate Spade’s Georgetown shop on February 12 from 6 to 8 PM for 20 percent off full-price purchases. Blogger Meg Biram is cohosting the sale.

Urban Chic (1626 Wisconsin Ave., NW)

Score 15 percent off full-price items as well as a free gift with purchase at Urban Chic’s Georgetown location all day on February 14.

Karma Beauty Lounge (1104 24th St., NW)

An array of spa services are discounted at this Erwin Gomez-run salon for V-Day, including the Single Rose package ($190), which includes an eye treatment, a shimmering mani/pedi, and a sampling of chocolates. For men, there’s the Gentleman’s Agreement ($160), which includes a facial and a bourbon-infused pedicure.
