Video Sidewalk Style: Dress Like an Egyptian

“The American look is a lot of flip flops,” says Hana Ragheb, a junior at George Washington University originally from Cairo, Egypt. “I can’t stand it.”

Amen, sister.

We understand that the oppressive heat and humidity of summers in Washington might have you reaching for your rubbery pair, but lazy summer days don’t have to translate into lazy fashion choices—especially when cuter and just as comfortable options are available. (Gladiator sandals, anyone?)

Check out our video for a look at Ragheb’s refreshing take on early summer fashion (We LOVE her necklaces!), and find out what she hopes to see more of in the coming months. Hint: It’s not flip flops.
