Where & When Bridal: What to Do This Weekend

Free Manolos and a free honeymoon? Now that’s what we call a good weekend.

Friday, February 6, through Saturday, February 7: Modern Trousseau Trunk Show
What makes Modern Trousseau stand out from the pack is its devotion to customizing. The Connecticut-based outfit is led by Aussie designer Callie Tein, who’ll be present at a trunk show of her latest collection of bridal and mother-of-the-bride gowns tomorrow through Saturday at Hitched (1523 Wisconsin Ave., NW; 202-333-6162)—and she’s open to your design and fit alterations. Those who purchase during the event get 10 percent off. Free; appointments are required and last one hour.

Sunday, February 8: Marriott & Renaissance Hotels Bridal Showcase
Boy, do we love a good giveaway! This one-day-only bridal showcase is offering everything from Manolo Blahnik shoes for one lucky bride to a free honeymoon on Marriott’s charge. Stop by any of the 18 participating hotels in Washington to enter to win, and while you’re there, you might as well tour the newly renovated ballrooms and learn about wedding packages. Click here for hotel locations. Free; 1 to 5 PM.

Wednesday, February 11: DIY Wedding Invites
Plan ahead: Hit a roadblock in finding the perfect invitations to your big day? Reston’s Paper Source (11975 Market St.; 703-481-0053) is hosting a class on Wednesday where you can make your own exactly as you want them. Experiment with different paper textures, colors, and messages to find the perfect style. Bonus: The teacher will also give tips on how to mass-produce the designs for couples with a lengthy guest list. Reservations suggested. $55; 6:30 to 9:30 PM.
