Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Dress: A Local Expert’s Picks

Okay, we understand that you may not be the biggest Keeping Up With the Kardashians fan (or maybe you’re unwilling to admit it). But perhaps you admire the fact that Kim’s not built like your average Hollywood stick figure—and she totally works it.

So we asked Sandy Ferreira Leone of Love Couture Bridal in Potomac to select three wedding-dress options for Kim (all available at her salon) that would suit her curvy physique (yes, we know that Kim recently announced that she’d be donning a Vera Wang creation at her nuptials, but this is just for fun). “I instantly envision Kim wearing a gown that’s reminiscent of Old Hollywood glamour,” says Leone. “The real question is: Will Kim opt for an unadorned dress and have her accessories and jewelry make a statement, or will she let her gown speak for itself?”

Leone’s first pick (far left), a Kenneth Pool strapless mermaid style with a shirred tulle bodice and low dropped waist, features a skirt of seamed tulle and clear paillettes. “This gown offers a figure-hugging mermaid silhouette without any dramatic beading,” says Leone. “Kim can accessorize this gown and really add her own personal touch. The dreamy texture of the tulle will make it look like she’s floating down the aisle.”

Leone’s second selection (center) is a ruffled ivory silk organza gown by Lazaro with a strapless curved neckline, beaded and embroidered elongated bodice, and a platinum jeweled silk ribbon belt at the natural waist. “This gown would really highlight Kim’s curvy figure,” says Leone. “The beaded belt will cinch in her already perfect waistline. To perfect the look, I’d pair it with opera-length gloves and a French net birdcage veil.”

We’ve heard that Kim was inspired by Prince William’s and Duchess Kate’s wedding when it comes to her wedding cake. So perhaps she’ll want a gown that screams “princess.” Leone recommends this Ysa Makinogown featuring a hand-embroidered and beaded bodice and full skirt with gathered pickups on the sides and train. “If Kim is dreaming of a fairytale wedding,” she says, “this gown will make her the ultimate princess bride.”
