Here’s the Most Instagram-Worthy Christmas Tree Stand in DC

Photos by Marisa M. Kashino.

Ditto Residential eventually plans to build a seven-unit condo building on its lot near 9th and U streets, NW. But for now, the developer has transformed the site into a Christmas tree farm, with a hot cocoa and espresso stand run by Vigilante Coffee. Proceeds from the sale of all trees, garlands, and wreaths will benefit Changing Perceptions, a Washington non-profit that helps formerly incarcerated individuals rebuild their lives and careers.

The tree farm—which includes Instagram opportunities aplenty—was created by local designer Leigh-Ann Friedel. She sourced vintage sleds, furniture, and a Santa’s sleigh from antique stores. She used to work as a display designer for Anthropologie, and it shows.

The Ditto Tree Farm, at 1923 9th St., NW, opens Saturday at 11 a.m. We took these Instagrams during a sneak peek inside.
